Xylem Inc. has released of its first sustainability report as a stand-alone company.

The report, A Drop is Everything, details Xylem’s accomplishments in the area of sustainability for its worldwide operations in the past year, and follows Xylem’s inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index and Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index on September 13, 2012.

“Our first sustainability report, after recently being named to the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes, further validates the work we do every day to advance sustainable business practices and report our progress transparently over time,” said Gretchen McClain, Xylem’s president and chief executive officer. “This report provides numerous examples of what we’ve done in our first year to become a safer, cleaner, more caring and more responsible company.”

Highlights of the report include Xylem’s commitment to use more sustainability measurements to assess and select our supplier partners, as well as the fact that Xylem has set a goal to pursue LEED (Leadership in Environmental and Energy Design) certification on all new construction at Xylem.
