Ring Container has appointed the Energy and Sustainability division of Premier Alliance Group to implement cost cutting measures through Southern California Edison’s (SCE) automated demand response (Auto-DR) program.

Incentives of $240,000 have been identified by Premier Alliance from SCE, which will be able to call upon Ring Container to load shed up to 800kW of electricity voluntarily during peak usage periods, once installed and operational.

As part of the project, control systems will be installed, which allow the safe and systematic shutdown of heavy facility equipment in multiple production lines of Ring Container.

Besides, multiple chillers, compressors and manufacturing lights, all of which are based on signals from SCE, will be installed.

The functionality is said to allow Ring Container to take advantage of SCE's demand bidding program that could represent over $3,000 of utility savings for each demand response event.

US-based Ring Container, which manufactures plastic containers, focuses on finding sustainable solutions for the consumer packaging industry.
