Canada-based Norplas Industries, a manufacturing division of Magna, is planning to invest $75m to build an auto parts manufacturing plant at Delta Township in Lansing, Michigan, US.

The new 350,000sqft plant will house a robotic paint line and injection molding manufacturing facility.

About $2m in economic incentives have been approved for the plant by the board of the Michigan Strategic Fund, a division of the Michigan Economic Development.

Delta Township supervisor Ken Fletcher said that Delta Township is home to some of the manufacturers and distributors, including GM, and now Norplas.

"Delta Township looks forward to continuing its work with Norplas, Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP) and the Michigan Economic Development (MEDC) to make this project a success," Fletcher added.

The company also plans to set up a new facility for light assembly and sequencing of Ford's Fusion sedan modules in Brownstown Township, Wayne County, according to lansingstatejournal.com.
